It takes 8 cookies to make Fuyo to understand … there is the newspaper in the letter box, take it gently and bring it to me.

First time she gave me that look “What? What do you want from me?” but after 2 times she got it. Amazing, two times and the dog will know “I have to pull that thing from the hole and … play with it”. Yes, play wasn’t actually the idea of this exercise but … hey we have to start somewhere.

The most difficult was to explain “gently”. Every time when she had the newspaper, she let it fell on the floor. Now the party could begin because how to pick up the piece of paper using only your teeth? Every dog will know, impossible. How to pick it up without fingers? Try!

Anyway, like I said after paying 8 cookies and drying session, I could enjoy a fresh coffee and the news … with two holes in the front page.

Age is only the number …

During the lunch break our coffee machine is under maintenance. The young girl who did the cleaning has been replaced by the two “mother figures”, very energetic and very chatty. Today was about the age.

“Some people look old and some people the opposite. I have neighbor, he is 73 years old but looks as 65, unbelievable”

“I know I have one who looks very old and he is in his late 50ties. He is, together with his wife, what I call the geranium people. They sit at home or in the garden the whole day, don’t work, don’t go anywhere, they are just sitting and getting old”

For me the numbers like 60 … 70 … 75 is an abstract.

Nobody tells...

... I have a lot on my mind but it doesn't want to come up the way ... I want. Maybe nothing is lost yet, maybe I am just to lazy to practice and find the right words...

What a madness… Yesterday at 10:00, the official ASOT 550 ticket sale has started. Well, that was what ALDA Events has announced but in practice … the sale started with a delay and the website crashed several times making a lot of fans upset. Some people were lucky and bought the tickets quite fast, immediately announcing their happiness on the Facebook. Some, including us, were freaking out that we are already too late and can forget the participation in special one hour Armin warm- up set as this arrangement was limited to first 2500 buyers.

I had to laugh about myself when finally I managed to order, pay and received e-tickets to my e-mail … my hands was shaking when I called A. “I did it, we are in, 31 March 2012 at 20:00!!!”

The tickets were sold out within few hours… this always amazes me what is it in this concepts that so many people participate over and over again and never have enough ;). Same here, our trancefamily group is getting bigger each time. This time we expect to be at least with eight during the special one hour warm- up session but believe that the rest will join us at 21:00 sharp… the “regular tickets” are still available … countdown starts … 5 months to go….

Chances...

I like the photo workshops, I like them even more if I can learn more that I already knew, practice, be creative and most important ... have fun. I manage to have all of this yesterday evening.

After short presentation, 10 groups run outside to perform the assignment. Each group could make maximum 12 photos on the assigned topic(we had to think first before taking shot)and choose 2 photos to present. There were quite some nice pictures and prices to win.

Let me introduce the 3rd price winner under assignment: "CHANCES"

Additionaly to the hand shake of the teacher, I've got the one year entry to the Fotomuseum in Rotterdam. Me happy!!!

The most amazing was the photo that got first price. My colleague hold the "real" camera for the first time in his life and he manage to get picture like photographer with at least 20 years experience ... so cool!

ASOT 500

Last weekend, after more than 4 months of waiting, finally we enjoyed ASOT 500 (A state of Trance with Armin van Buuren). This is the crème de la crème of Trance events since gathers the most popular but also, in my view, the best DJ’s currently playing. I wanted to split myself at least in to two pieces and be able to join few stages at the same time (5 stages available, 40 DJ’s playing) but I had to compromise. Eventually we anchor at the state of blue … with amazing show of Marcus Schulz, Above& Beyond, Armin himself, Gareth Emery and W&W. Unfortunately I missed Cosmic Gate playing just before Armin. As I though the gates to sate of blue has been closed way in advance to prevent the place of getting overcrowded. A half of our group stayed behind and missed THE MOST important part of the event … I was at the right side.

What was happening during Armin’s appearance is difficult to describe, simply amazing, awesome, great and overwhelming. Attached video report shows just a bit of the sphere we have enjoyed for 8 hours in the row.

Tired but with the big smiles on our faces, sitting in the train, we were heading home … together with the participants of the Rotterdam Marathon which was about to start in a 3 hours ;)))

I am beautiful…

… and drunk … well at least what the research based on 1000 people has indicated.

Having good luck…

I have a bit of trauma when going to visit my mum in Poland by car.
Simply, I hate driving there and not because of the bad road which in the West Pomeranian region are actually quite good, but because of the way most of the Polish people drive.

It was different when was living there and been driving in Little Fiat 126p. My perception changed since I’ve been living more than 10 years in NL and got used to highways and in general proper way of driving. Exceptions exists of course.

Saying that, the latest incident definitely will not help to get over a creepy filing when being on the Polish roads. Recently, my aunt had an accident. She is alright, having some bruises, cuts and small wounds which is MORE THAN LUCK taking in to consideration the frontal strike and the damage on the car as seen on the below pictures. LUCKELY she was driving alone on the way to pick up my grandma … I do not even want to think what would happen if she was taking her home which happens quite often during the year.

The guy driving the new Volkswagen was in the hurry, of course reasonable explanation, and was passing another car as a third one in the row (na trzeciego)… Those people that never have driven or been in Poland would not imagine how stupid it is and how many people do it … well he did not fit apparently, causing the accident that could cost a life of innocent person. Make me sick!!

HEY is coming to The Hague. They will play one concert in Paard van Troje 17 April 2011 and we girls will be there. It will be like being 18 again ....

Doldrums …

Can Fuyo, my dog, use the fitness pass and go for a run or maybe group lesson like spinning or body pump? Can I also send A. with her? They seem to have a lot of energy and I do not. The rubber frog is squeaking and fling around the room … and I just want to sink in the sofa. Need a strong Nespresso and I need it now!

Is it possible that spring is coming a little bit earlier this year?... I saw a lot of sun today... have you heard any rumors about that... maybe it is better to keep quiet otherwise winter will know, turn back and grab her chance again.

Creativity with the big C...

One of my good friends live in Brisbane so I was very happy when heard that she is visiting NL during the Christmas time. Of course I would be even more happy to visit her in Australia but this is not in my plans soon, unfortunately. Beside the fact that we had great Italian meal and took the trip down our memory line, we talk about the future and things we would like to do. She just finished a year long graphic design course and has been very excited about it. “It is so nice and interesting to create something” she said and I believe her.

Since I was child I loved to participate in the drawing, painting lessons and be part of the artistic groups. Somewhere during my study I lost the sparkle and attention focusing on more “down to earth” activities but still somewhere, unconscious I was and still am, admiring creativity and people that can communicate in the interesting way no matter if via photographs, graphics, movies, sound or writing. Work of one of the guys my girlfriend told me about you can see here but there are more remarkable people around …

Can you think that your computer is dead, not breathing, screen black and that you lose all your files, programs, music, photos and other things that you have been working for last days, months, years ... well I have not lost everything but quite a lot, especially programs and films that I could not backup properly ;(. Now I have to be patient and step by step rebuild my old computer life ...

Can you imagine how will your day looked like without internet? How long will you survive without e-mail, Facebook, news, blog, youtube, your list of favorites ...

I read an article that from a group of 500 people, 40% of women and 20% of men will rather have 2 weeks without sex than without the internet ... interesting.

I miss my Microsoft office and Photoshop Light room ...

Snow…

We were waiting… it was said that it would come last Thursday but eventually here it is, today. The first snow predated by two days of frost.

What I want is to take the blanket, warm chocolate and watch TV. What I am going to do is clean my car and go to the fitness school for the “body balance” and walk my white monster afterwards … Fuyo will go crazy, she is born to be a sledge dog , I think. Maybe she was a husky in her previous life …

The tiredness of thoughts …

Almost every day I have at least few topics for a blog and eventually nothing comes out of my head. Not one sentence , not even one word, not even a letter. I just admire work of the others: books, articles, blogs, posts … and respect most of them for a great eye to see, ear to listen and the easy way of writing.

I will write more, in the future but for now, I have finished “Lapidarium IV” and “Travels with Herodotus” by Ryszard Kapuscinski . I found both great, amazing, so true and surprising. I have become a big fan regardless the dispute rather what he has written should be classified as a fiction or journalism. I do not care that much and is just great to read.

I have also tried “I will sell the house, which I live in” (Inzerát na dům, ve kterém už nechci bydlet) by Bohumil Harabal. My goodness, what a book, Maslowska squared. I liked small pieces in the book, in the way “how crazy can you be to imagine such situations”, I was not able to finish ….to crazy and extraordinary. what makes you think while reading the below statements of old female character, selling the greasy sausages, midnight hours, in Prague:

“you will not die the natural way, and if you die, please let your body be cremated, give the ashes to me as your last will and I will use it to clean my forks and my knifes, this way it will happen something interesting to you, at least, like with a gift, with disaster or with love ”.

Is rather weird, isn’t it? The whole book is written this way…. I was so tired afterwards that I had to switch to Harry Potter. Highly recommended to all odd-ies . Good luck!

First times…

I like the first times … the whole idea behind it, the excitement, the thrill, the unknown. Of course you can immediately think about the first times like sex, kiss, love when the butterflies try to escape your stomach. But actually all the first times have similar components especially one, they end, leaving space to the second, third, fourth, fifth ...

You will hear the stories about the experience of the other people, people you know or just met or maybe you have read about something in the book, article or saw it on television but still… you have no idea how you will feel, think and behave. How dip it will touch you.

First pregnancy, child, dog, cat, trip on the plane, ship, first bike ride, car ride, motor ride … the first alcohol, soft drug, hard drug, smart drug, cigarette, joint and the firs headache afterwards … first school day, swimming lesson, work, first haircut, dentist, broken leg, arm or finger … you name it … you can think about it, you can imagine how it will be … but actually … no idea.

My first times this week were simple, visit the city library, first lesson of the wine course and walk with Fuyo at the Vlietland. Waiting for next millions of the first times.

Delftse Hout ...

Nice place to go when the sky is blue, the sun hot and the grass green. The dogs can run and swim without problems and constant supervision. I did not have to worry that Fuyo will bite somebody ass, steal the ball of poor child or that she will run in to somebody’s stuff wet and stinky or roll over the picnic blanket. The expectations of all owners are the same … everything can happen and people are more loosen up about it. I could also use my new phone (Sony Ericsson – Xperia X10) by making some funny pictures.
